#4 Westcliff locked down defensively on #5 UC Merced for three quarters, then survived a furious Bobcat fourth-quarter rally to notch a 47-45 win in the opening round of the Cal Pac women's basketball championships. WU advances to Monday's semifinals and will play #1 Antelope Valley at 12 Noon (PST) in the first semifinal.
