Stacey Solomon finally gets round to washing her hair – for the first time since baby Belle was born three WEEKS ago
STACEY SOLOMON has finally found the time to wash her hair three weeks after giving birth to her daughter, Belle.
The mum-of-five took to Instagram earlier this week to joke joking that she hadn’t washed her hair for a fortnight since her youngest daughter was born.
But the mum finally found time today and couldn’t be happier to get rid of the smell of grease.
Posting to her Instagram stories, Stacey set up her daughter in a fluffy cream ‘nest’ by the shower so she could finally give her hair a rinse.
Many mums struggle to fit the time in to look after themselves after giving birth and we’re thrilled the busy mum found twenty minutes for herself.
In the post, she said: “Finally done it.
“finally washed this mop, sweet, sweet smell of not grease.”
Stacey joked that she felt she had to make a speech thanking her newborn, her husband, Joe Swash, and her fans for sticking by her and her greasy hair.
She continued: “I feel emotional about it, honestly, I feel like I should make a speech its been that long.
“I want to thank my newborn baby for not crying long enough for me to shampoo and condition.
“I want to thank my husband for sleeping next to me night after night and not asking for a divorce, the smell can’t have been easy to sleep with.
“I want to thank you lot, for always sticking by me and never judging me no matter how many eggs you can fry on my head.”
Recently a haircare expert revealed that prolonging wash day can actually have a negative effect on your scalp and hair.
Responding to one mum, who had gone weeks without washing her hair, Akta Balavia said it creates an environment that’s perfect for bacteria to grow.
The trichologist in training said: ”The skin on your scalp is skin – it’s a living tissue, so it produces oil, it sweats, it sheds skin.”
The whizz went on to explain in her video: ”Basically, it gives the perfect environment for bacteria to build up if you don’t wash it.”
“‘Leaving it for days on end will just make it worse. And in addition to that, you’re going to get irritation, you’re going to get flakiness, itchiness, inflammation,” she added.
On top of that, skipping hair wash day can cause hair loss claimed the expert.
She continued: ”Even if you think your hair looks great after 20 days of not washing it, think about the actual bacteria.
”Think about what it’s doing to your scalp and your hair follicles.
”Ask yourselves this – would you go 20 days without washing the skin on your face? Probably not, so why would you do that to your scalp?”
While it might be true, we think everyone should give Stacey a pass considering she just gave birth.
