What is Non-Proliferation Treaty and How it Put Brakes on US-Triggered Nuclear Adventurism

March 5, 2023, marks the 53rd anniversary of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) which entered into force in 1970. The NPT is the only binding commitment established in a multilateral treaty that seeks disarmament by the nuclear-weapon states. On May 11, 1995, it was extended indefinitely.
