I’m a beauty whizz & tried out the new Marshmallow make-up sponge dupe from Primark – the results surprised me
A BEAUTY WHIZZ has shared her thoughts on Primark’s latest make-up dupe.
Jordan Lipscombe, from the UK, tried out the Marshmallow make-up sponge dupe from Primark which costs just £2.50.
In a recent TikTok video posted to her account (@jordanlipscombe) she applied her foundation using the blender.
The Marshmallow beauty sponge by Coco Cosmetics costs £8.95 for one, whereas the Primark version comes in a pack of two for £2.50.
In the video, the beauty whizz said: “Do these or do these not look like the marshmallow sponges?
“£2.50 for two as well and I’m intrigued to see what these are really like.”
Jordan added that she wasn’t a big fan of the Primark beauty sponges.
Comparing the two, Jordan noticed the Primark sponge was a lot denser and less squishy than the original version.
She explained: “I don’t know this one just feels so much firmer, I’m gonna go wet this.”
After wetting the Primark sponge she added: “Okay safe to say that she has very very much grown.”
Jordan said that she really worked the water into the sponge to really soften it up.
The beauty whizz then decided to put it to the test, and it seemed that she was pleasantly surprised.
She said: “That is blending it as good as my other sponges.
“Look at that. The ease and the quickness and the way that my foundation is sitting on my skin.
“I can’t complain.”
After blending her concealer and contour with the sponge, Jordan confirmed it was similar the Marshmallow sponge.
Despite the fact it felt denser than the original, Jordan said it performed in the same way, leaving her with flawless skin.
She explained: “Primark’s done it again, it’s its own little category of sponge and if you wanna try it, do it, she’s cute.”
The video has since gone viral with over 270k views and over 40k likes.
People were quick to share their thoughts in the comments section of the video.
One wrote: “Thanks so much for recognising that not everyone can spend over £10 on one singular sponge.”
Another person commented: “£2.50 is a bargain for people who can’t afford the original sponge.”
“Going to Primark Thursday. I know what my first purchase will be,” penned a third.
Meanwhile, a fourth added: “I love this sponge my go-to new sponge.”
