ITV recommissions hit show for new series
IN our age of streamed TV, it’s entertainment shows that still have families switching on the old-fashioned way.
Classics like I’m A Celebrity, Strictly Come Dancing and Michael McIntyre’s Big Show still reel in the viewers.
So it’s good ITV has backed Sunday night treat Dancing On Ice for a 16th series.
A TV source said: “These days channels must be ruthless to win viewers.
“Only this month we’ve seen shows that were still popular be shelved, like I Can See Your Voice and You’ve Been Framed.
“But Dancing On Ice’s recommission now puts it on a par with other big hitters such as The Apprentice, Britain’s Got Talent and Come Dine With Me.”
As the latest series nears its finale, former artistic gymnast Nile Wilson is the bookies’ favourite to raise the trophy.
