Iron Lynx & Dames Line-Ups Confirmed For World Challenge Endurance Cup
Italian outfit Iron Lynx has confirmed that it has entered a trio of Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2s for the Endurance Cup rounds of the 2023 GT World Challenge Europe season. Its three-car effort spans multiple classes and includes an all-female Iron Dames Bronze Cup entry.
“This is the third year that Iron Lynx is taking part in the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup, and we are thrilled to be bringing three cars to the grid,” says Andrea Piccini. Iron Lynx’s team principal. “We are excited to return with Lamborghini to take on one of the most competitive GT championships.
“We have very nice memories from our previous seasons at the Fanatec GTWC and we are really looking forward to the official test days starting tomorrow.”
In the Pro category, Iron Lynx will compete with a trio of Lamborghini factory drivers aboard its #63 EVO2, with Mirko Bortolotti, Andrea Caldarelli and Jordan Pepper named.
The second Iron Lynx car, the #19, will compete in the Gold Cup, with drivers Rolf Ineichen, Michele Beretta and Lamborghini factory driver Leonardo Pulcini teaming up.
The Iron Dames meanwhile, will compete in the team’s #83 Huracán GT3 EVO2 in the Bronze Cup with Rahel Frey, Sarah Bovy and Michelle Gatting confirmed.
Lamborghini head of motorsport, Giorgio Sanna, adds: “Lamborghini Squadra Corse is thrilled to support the Iron Lynx Team and the Iron Dames car in the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup as well. All three Huracán GT3 EVO2 boast high-profile crews aiming for ambitious results.”
This programme adds to Iron Lynx’s GTE campaigns with Porsche in the FIA WEC and ELMS and its IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup commitment with the Huracán GT3 platform this year. The Italian factory-supported team has also been nominated as a partner for Lamborghini’s forthcoming LMDh programme, which is set to make its competitive debut in 2024.
Iron Lynx will be present in the 2023 Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe championship too.
The season starts on April 22nd with the opening Endurance Cup race at Monza, Italy.
