[Baseball] BENU Tops NMSU To Start 5-Win Week

Benedictine Mesa traveled to Las Cruces, NM, and handed NCAA D1 New Mexico State a 9-3 loss on Tuesday, beginning a five-win week for the Redhawks, who are now 11-7 on the season.  BENU totaled 12 hits, led by Kevin Fitzgerald who went 3-for-5 with four RBI and a home run in the 1st inning.  Travis Reaves went 3-for-4, Josh Hernandez was 3-for-4, and Orlando Lorduy added two hits.  The Redhawks followed that with four wins at the Tucson Invitational, topping Jamestown twice on Saturday and the beating Dakota Wesleyan and Morningside (Iowa) on Sunday.  In the 15-12 win over Jamestown, Reaves, Hernandez and Dylan Bangs each had three hits.  Lorduy added two hits, a home run, and five RBI, and Jack Fitzgerald added a home run and three RBI.  In the second game with the Jimmies, a 13-2 win, Kevin Fitzgerald and Anthony Sortino finished with three hits while Kameron Haviland threw six innings and finished with 10 strikeouts while allowing just one earned run.  In Sunday's 13-2 win over Dakota Wesleyan, Bangs led the barrage with three hits, a home run, and five RBI, and Lorduy added two hits, two
