Airbnb CEO Brian Chesky tried working remotely from Airbnbs, as many others did, during the pandemic.
He ended up staying at a "fairytale" cottage outside LA, per "Crash Landing," a new book by Liz Hoffman.
The $2,500-per-night Airbnb includes a lush backyard with farm animals, a treehouse, and a hot tub.
In early 2022, Airbnb CEO Brian Chesky decided to escape his San Francisco home after years of pandemic isolation. After brief stays at Airbnb's in Atlanta, Nashville, Charleston, and Miami, he ended up running his company from a listing called the "Fairytale Dream Cottage" outside Los Angeles. He stayed there for a weekend, Airbnb host Rachel Swimmer told Insider.The front of the fairy tale cottage.
Located in the lush hills of Topanga, the "small" cottage offers guests a "private fairytale oasis" away from the commotion of LA city life.A side view of the cottage.
Built in the 1920s, the "very old home" was used as a "hunting lodge and retreat for the wealthy," host Swimmer wrote in the listing. Everything in the house — from the ceiling chandelier to the gothic-styled mirrors — is vintage, she said.The cottage's living room.
The private cottage includes a living room, two bedrooms, a kitchen, a fireplace, and a bathroom.
