I’m a 42F and I tried the ‘wearing underwear as a shirt’ trend – I was shocked by how cute and comfy it was
VIRAL fashion friends don’t always work how you might expect.
One woman was skeptical of a “hack” that turns two pairs of panties into a cute crop top, but she gave it a try anyway.
Plus-size influencer McKayla Elliott (@makingitmckayla) spotted the bizarre trend on TikTok.
In the original clip, a TikTok user named Joslyn takes two thongs and criss-crosses them over her chest.
By positioning the largest part of each thong across her chest, the wearer creates a cropped, bralette-like top that hugs her bust.
Elliott decided to give the hack a try in her own video. though there was one major difference in her version.
While the fashion innovator had a fairly small chest, Elliott proudly sports a larger cup size, 42F.
Standing in a sweater, Elliott looked skeptical as she held up two pairs of underwear.
She went for a high-contrast take, with one pair of tighty-whities and one pair of dark black underwear.
Though Elliott grimaced at herself in the mirror as she pulled the underwear over her head, she soon had the skivvies in place.
Her jaw dropped in amazement that the sartorial switcheroo had paid off.
“It works!” Elliott cried, turning to show off the back view of the DIY look.
Though Elliott looked phenomenal, her fellow big-busted followers had one major question.
“But is it comfy?” a hopeful viewer asked, to which Elliott replied with a resounding “Yes.”
Viewers were impressed with Elliott’s skills, the ingenuity at play, and the overall result.
“You are brave. Looks cute,” wrote one commenter.
Another was concerned to see Elliott using underwear from Yitty, the clothing company fronted by pop star Lizzo.
“Cute, but it ain’t worth stretching out the Yittys,” the viewer insisted.
And others jokingly complained that the adorable styling choice was totally unwarranted.
“Thongs have no right to be this cute as bralettes,” she protested.
