[Women's Wrestling] Moreno, Nelson ready for NAIA National Championship opportunity
Jamestown, N.D. – As the first-ever NAIA national qualifiers in the short history of the Friends University wrestling program, sophomore Gianna Moreno and freshman Bailee Nelson are ready for the big stage this weekend at the NAIA Women's Wrestling National Championship on Mar. 10-11 in Jamestown, N.D.
Moreno and Nelson will each enter the national competition following runner-up finishes at the KCAC Championship meet (Feb. 25) in York, Neb.
A native of San Marcos, Texas, Moreno comes in with a mark of 23-9 this season that includes 12 technical fall wins and six falls.
Nelson, a West Valley, Utah native, is 24-5 overall, with a whopping 23 of those victories coming by fall.
