Bharti Airtel recently extended the sharp hike in base prepaid rates it initially implemented in Odisha and Haryana to 19 circles in a bid to boost ARPU. Kolkata, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh are the only markets where it’s yet to roll out the higher base prepaid rates. Airtel had reported an ARPU of Rs 193 in the December quarter, FY23. The ARPU is a key performance metric for telcos.
