Tributes to ‘beautiful boys’ aged 7 & 9 found dead with mum Nadja De Jager as devastating final videos of kids revealed
TRIBUTES have poured in to a mum and two young children found dead at home in a family tragedy.
Nadja De Jager, 47, and her sons Alexander, nine, and seven-year-old Maximus were discovered in Belvedere, South East London, yesterday morning.
Touching tributes were left at the scene for the boys and their family after their tragic death.
One heartfelt message read: “To Alex and Maxy’s family. Our deepest sympathies for the loss of your beautiful boys and their mum. We are thinking of you. Love the Mandalias.”
Their son, Noah, wrote: “I will miss you in class and when we played games. Bye, love Noah.”
Neighbours of Nadja De Jager said her death and those of her children are “heartbreaking”.
Dawn Porter, who lived on Mayfield Road with Ms De Jager and her sons, said: “I don’t think it’s properly sunk in, I feel kind of physically sick thinking about what has gone on.”
She added: “If it was anything that she did perhaps she could’ve come to some of the neighbours and said ‘I’m having problems’.
“It’s very sad, you just want answers when something like this happens.”
Belvedere Infant and Junior School has paid tribute to “loving and caring” pupils Alexander and Maximus.
In a statement, the school said: “Alex and Max were truly wonderful members of our school community and we will remember them with great fondness and love. They were loving and caring boys who had a real hunger to learn.
“Both were model pupils and it was clear that they were each other’s best friend. They will be hugely missed by pupils and staff alike, and forever be part of our hearts at Belvedere.
“Our deepest condolences are with the family and their friends during this difficult time and in due course we will share details of a fitting memorial for the brothers at Belvedere.
“For now, our immediate priority has been to make sure we have support in place for the children and staff to help them come to terms with what has happened, including through specialist counselling.
“The death of any child is a terrible tragedy, but our school community will come together to grieve and to be there for each other. Belvedere is a warm and loving place and we will come through this together.”
It comes after heartbreaking videos show the two brothers playing at home just months before they were found dead alongside their mum.
Footage posted to YouTube in June last year shows the youngsters building a playhouse on decking, which appears to be at the back of their house.
Alex and Max work together to screw the various colourful parts together.
In another clip, shared in April 2021, little Max shows off a magic trick where he makes his name appear on a tray of water.
And two other videos show Alex reading rhyming poems, one called The Bear.
