Mum Nadja De Jager, 47, ‘strangled sons aged 7 & 9 before killing herself at home in tragic murder suicide’
A MUM is suspected of killing her two young boys before taking her own life.
Property company boss Nadja De Jager, 47, is thought to have strangled or suffocated sons Alexander, nine, and Maximus, seven, and then killed herself.
Their bodies were discovered at their home on Thursday morning after police received a call raising concerns about the family’s welfare.
Swede Nadja, said to be divorced, and her sons were pronounced dead at the scene. Detectives said they were not looking for anybody else in connection with the grim discovery at the three-bedroom terraced house in Belvedere, South London.
No weapon was used and post- mortem examinations will be carried out to establish the exact causes of their deaths. Detective Inspector Ollie Stride said: “This is a deeply sad case and we are continuing to establish the circumstances that led to this tragic incident.”
Neighbours said Nadja had separated some time ago from the boys’ father Herman De Jager.
Yesterday, toys still littered the driveway where a Mitsubishi pick-up truck was parked with a child’s scooter inside.
Marion Beazer, 69, who lives opposite, said: “As far as I’m aware they were just a normal family. Seeing the kids toys out the front tugs on the heart strings. It’s just dreadful.”
Graduate Nadja, who spoke Croatian, Spanish and English, had run her property company with her husband before he resigned as a director.
