Vector Sport / Isotta Fraschini Update
A brief catch-up with Vector Sport Team Principal Gary Holland in the Sebring paddock clarified a number of aspects of the team’s intended 2023 programme(s).
The newly re-liveried Oreca LMP2 programme will continue for the full season, whether or not the team’s Isotta Fraschini Tipo 6 Hypercar is accepted for a race-by-race entry later this year. The Oreca, with all three drivers, (Gabby Aubry, Matthias Kaiser and Ryan Cullen) tested both at Paul Ricard and Portimao before the car was shipped to Sebring.
The Isotta Fraschini meanwhile is set to shake down at the end of this month with Holland adding that the car has already undertaken very extensive dyno testing.
If all goes as expected at the shakedown then the car will move straight into a full test programme.
As previously suggested the intention thereafter is to request race-by-race entries starting with Monza, the new hypercar then would compete alongside the team’s continuing LMP2 effort.
