Regulators took control of Silicon Valley Bank, the Santa Clara-based commercial lending giant which until earlier this week was the US’s 16th biggest bank, after a bank run. The calamity may have been startling, but wasn’t unpredictable, given the Fed’s aggressive policy on interest rates, says author and banking expert David Tawil.
