Points deduction. Last day drama (no replies)

With Wigan now being touted as a possible recipient of a points deduction, it got me thinking. How about on the last day of the season, after the last ball has been kicked, they do a televised draw. A televised draw of points deductions.

I imagine it being like the FA Cup Draw but with someone dressed as the Grim Reaper pulling the numbers out. It would have to random to elevate the drama.

If your club is squeaky clean they would read your club’s name out, and very much like the UK Eurovision Song Contest you’d hear “nil point” (you’d need someone with a French accent saying it. Possibly, Cantona).

If your club plays loose and fast with the rules and is ‘run’ by imbeciles, when your club’s number is pulled …….the TV feed goes straight to the ground your club has played at on the last day… then cuts back to the studio where David Baldwin delivers the numbers of points to be deducted from your club’s point total, the camera cuts away to a real time league table to show the damage, back to the ground and then back to the studio.

Delaying the news of ‘official’ relegation would be inline with another wonderful idea …..VAR. Keep the punters guessing.
