Atal Bihari Vajpayee led the Indian delegation to Geneva. To the outside world, India was showing a united face. With bipartisanship and deft diplomacy, India was able to ward off the threat of economic sanctions. Of course, it's another matter that such a resolution against India would be unthinkable today.
