To increase Medicare access to obesity drugs, lawmakers, advocacy groups and drug makers are pushing for a law to lift a decades-old prohibition on Medicare coverage of weight-loss drugs. Backers of the proposed legislation hope the emergence of more effective drugs will enable momentum for passage.
