Nationals C Keibert Ruiz agrees to 8-year contract

Washington Nationals catcher Keibert Ruiz agreed to an eight-year contract on Saturday that includes two club options.

Financial terms were not disclosed by the team, however multiple reports said the total value of the deal is $50 million. The club options are for 2031 and 2032 seasons.

Ruiz, 24, batted .251 with seven homers and 36 RBIs in 112 games in his first full season with the Nationals in 2022.
