Jamestown, N.D. -- For the first time in program history, the Friends University Women's Wrestling Falcons have NAIA National Championship qualifiers, with Gianna Moreno (SO/San Marcos, Texas) and Bailee Nelson (FR/West Valley, Utah) each posting runner-up finishes at the KCAC Championship meet to qualify for this weekend's national meet.
And that may not be the only history made this weekend, as Nelson sits just one win away from adding first-ever NAIA All-American in program history to her resume.
Nelson battled and rallied her way through the competition to win multiple matches on the first day and approach the brink of history.
Moreno also came within two wins of All-America status, but fell in a tough 4-2 decision.
