I grabbed all the make-up left in Aldi – the eyebrow stuff was watery but I’ve definitely found a gem with the concealer
A BEAUTY fan has revealed what she really thinks of Aldi’s bargain makeup – and there’s one product you need to stock up on now.
Elly Marie claimed that while the supermarket’s eyebrow pen might be worth skipping, she claims their £4 concealer is a winner.
Known online as @trewleyprecious, the content creator also claimed the products could be savvy alternatives to some of your favourite brands, including Benefit and Tarte.
In a new TikTok reel, she said: “I grabbed all the makeup that was left in Aldi.
“I’ve got mascaras, concealers, eyebrow stuff, lip stuff, skincare stuff. Let’s get into it.
“Let’s start off with our eyebrows. So, this is their microblade pen.
“Now I got this in the shade dark brown, but let’s open her up.
“She is supposed to be the dupe, I think, for the Benefit Brow [Microfilling Pen].
“So as you guys can see, it has three little spikes. Let’s see how she swatches.
“I would say she’s a bit watery but this means she could be buildable.
“And listen, if these products are jank, I’m going to tell you.
During the one-minute, 50-second video, the beauty fan is seen filling in her brows using the Lacura Microblade Effect Pen, currently priced at £3.49.
Sharing her first impressions, she adds: “Has it filled it in? Yes. Has it given me hair strokes? No.
“I feel like if you’re someone that has patchy eyebrows or no hair at all, his pen is not for you.
“If you just need a quick fill-in, then this is for you.”
Next, Elly is seen trying a collection of the discount store’s concealers in a range of shades.
She claims the Lacura Take Cover Concealer, priced at £3.99 and currently only available in-store, could be a dupe for Tarte’s viral Shape Tape concealer.
Elly started by applying a darker shade around her temples and cheekbones, using it as a contour.
She continued: “Right let’s blend this in with a beauty blender.
“Oh, I don’t think you need to put on as much as I did.
“I just blended it up to my head. Look how nice that is blending.”
In part two, the makeup pro tried a lighter shade of the concealer to see how well it works as a replacement for foundation.
“Let’s see how well…okay coverage. I see you, baby.
“Right okay, so we’ve blended out shade three as foundation. So far, so good.
“Is the coverage insane to use it as a foundation? No, but if I want something light on my face, then yes.
“Now onto shade one. I’m so excited, I love a bright undereye.”
After also blending out the concealer under her eyes with a beauty blender, Elly revealed her thoughts, adding: “No way. Don’t do that to me.
“Yes, coverage b****, I see you b****.
“Oh my god, this concealer is so brightening as well.
“Okay, she’s all blended in. Now she has blended lovely, I love the brightness of her.
“I wouldn’t say she is full coverage because you can still see my lines from my bags, but the finish and the payoff is so, so pretty.”
Fans loved her honesty, with the video gaining more than 77,400 likes and 747,400 views.
In the comments, Elly’s followers shared their thoughts, with one writing: “Good vibes galore.”
Another said: “The concealer is unreal.”
“They have such a good shade range wowww,” someone else commented.
A fourth added: “Aldi make-up is unreal the mascara is unbelievable and don’t even start me on the primers, the best I’ve ever used.”
