I’d been told about a shop that’s like ‘Iceland on crack’ so thought I’d go and check it out – here’s what I thought
SHE kept hearing about a shop described as “Iceland on crack”, so couldn’t resist checking it out.
And Gi took to TikTok to share a video of her debut outing to The Food Warehouse, writing over the top of her clip: “Is The Food Warehouse worth the hype?”
“Apparently this place is like Iceland on crack so lets see what it’s all about,” she began.
“First of all, come here one hour before it closes, it’s an absolute dream,” Gi said, showing off the virtually empty store.
One of the first things she saw some Cathedral City Cauliflower Cheese, which she said was “stunning”.
After spotting some Muller Bliss yoghurts on the shelves, she stocked up, as she hadn’t seen them in Tesco for “absolutely ages”.
Walking through the chocolate aisle, Gi added: “My calorie deficit is screaming ‘Ignore, ignore, ignore’.”
“I walked every freezer aisle knowing that I do not have a freezer but then I saw this Fanta Lemon and I was like, ‘Oh my God’,” she continued.
She grabbed a massive bag of Doritos, after admitting she’d never seen one that big, before also picking up some cat treats.
Nostalgia was strong in the store, as she got some Maryland cookie bags and gushed over some Haribo Giant Strawbs and a Ferrero Rocher white chocolate bar.
Not everything was cut price though, as Gi stopped to gasp at the price of a jar of Options hot chocolate – which was £4.50.
“What the hell have we done to deserve that?” she raged.
“12 Pot Noodles for £8?” Gi said.
“I’ll take 20,000!”
She was also thrilled to see a decent selection of Old El Paso products, as well as gravy that wasn’t going to break the bank.
In the comments section, people were largely divided as to whether or not The Food Warehouse was reasonably priced.
“It use to be so good but now it’s so expensive! Their greggs range has gone up by 50%,” one wrote.
“Prices too high in this place,” another added.
“Farm foods is cheaper by miles,” a third commented.
But others insisted they regularly go to the store to bag a bargain.
“I’m loving the cathedral city collection,” one wrote.
“This looks amazing,” another added.
“It’s for big family’s I’ve been a few times and it’s really good,” a third commented.
Gi revealed her verdict in another video as she said: “Do I think it’s worth it? For us, no not really.
“But for families and businesses, it’s probably a shout.”
