I’m a cleaning expert & there’s five mistakes you’ve been making around the house – there’s no way your floors are clean
A CLEANING expert has revealed the five major mistakes you’ve probably been making, and there’s no way your house is as clean as you think it is.
Even if you’re getting into all the hidden nooks and crannies there’s still more you need to know.
The cleaning whizz from @homes_reimagined2 on Instagram explained why letting your cleaning products sit for a few minutes is vital for a deeper clean for starters.
“If you’re wiping it up right away then you’re not letting the product to it’s job and eat up the grime while disinfecting,” she said.
Most products will have a recommended about of time you should let products ‘sit’ before scrubbing them in or wiping them up on the bottle already, but usually it’s around two to five minutes.
But that’s not the only mistake you might be making in your home, chances are you’re using too much product when you’re cleaning altogether, but especially in your mop bucket.
“If your floors are ending up streaky it means the mop head has too much on it and if the floors are cloudy then you’ve put too much product in the bucket,” the pro explained.
And when it comes to your carpet vacuuming it in both directions will ensure there’s no stray dust or dirt lingering in any corners.
Going over the same area twice means you’re “going deep into the carpet fibres and picking everything up,” the keen cleaner explained.
The next mistake you might be making is not dusting before spraying on cleaning products.
If you really want to get rid of debris spraying it with wet products will only smear it around, rather than remove it.
Maintaining your cleaning tools is something people often forget all about as well.
This includes everything from your vacuum cleaner to your sponges and cloths.
Taking care of them properly means they’ll work more efficiently for longer, saving you time and money in the long run.
Fellow cleaning fans loved the simple but important tips and one raved: “These are such great reminders!!”
A second commented: “Now I’m excited for Spring cleaning.”
