Southern Marin firefighters rescue dog from Tam Valley fire
Fire crews rescued a dog from a blaze in the Tamalpais Valley neighborhood.
The fire was reported Friday night at an apartment complex on 406 Maple St., according to the Southern Marin Fire Protection District.
The fire was first reported on the second floor. A responding engine company arrived and found smoke and flames from one apartment in the building.
A dog was rescued from the balcony of the burning unit, located on the third floor, Southern Marin fire Battalion Chief Doug Patterson said.
No injuries were reported. The dog was not hurt, according to a social media post from the fire department.
Firefighters from Marin County, Tiburon, Central Marin, Kentfield, San Rafael, Novato responded along with Pacific Gas and Electric Co, the Marin County Sheriff’s Office and the California Highway Patrol.
The estimated damage on the building was $700,000.
The cause remains under investigation.
