Waterford police trying to ID suspects who stole more than $3K from CVS using sleight of hand
Police in Waterford are trying to identify two men suspected of stealing more than $3,000 from a local CVS using sleight of hand.
Waterford police on Monday released a photo of the suspects and details of the theft, which was reported Friday at the CVS on Boston Post Road.
According to police, the suspects bought gift cards and used sleight-of-hand techniques to “distract and confuse the cashier.”
Waterford police said the pair was believed to have used the same theft technique earlier in the day in a neighboring community, adding that professionals who use this kind of method often travel and are not always local to the area.
Police have asked anyone who can identify the suspects to contact Waterford police Officer Swarr at 860-442-9451, ext. 2251 or nswarr@waterfordct.org.
