Five states - Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh - have informed the Centre about their decision to go back to the old pension scheme. "Resources have to be judiciously used. The CAG audits the income and expenditure of governments (Centre and states) in accordance with constitutional provisions. That is our core job," Murmu said. "As for the pension scheme, this is a policy issue."
