Report: Harry Kane’s future could remain unresolved beyond this summer
Sky Sports have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are determined to hold on to Harry Kane even if he does not sign a new contract with the club before the start of next season.
Kane is now into the final 15 months of his contract in N17 but the report states that Spurs have no intention of sanctioning a sale this summer even if the striker refuses to sign a contract extension.
It is said that selling the England captain is not on the agenda for the North London club this summer, irrespective of whether they finish in the top four or not.
Sky Sports add that Tottenham are prioritising getting the 29-year-old to sign a new deal but are prepared to be patient to achieve their goal.
The report adds that the club feel that Kane’s presence and contribution is more valuable than the transfer fee he could amass, which is why his situation could be unresolved going into January 2024.
It is explained that while Manchester United remain admirers of the Spurs star, the Red Devils cannot afford a protracted transfer saga since Erik Ten Hag considers it to be a priority position.
Football.London reported yesterday that Spurs’ managing director of football Fabio Paratici has already reached out to Kane’s camp regarding a new contract, however, formal talks between the two parties are yet to begin.

Based on the various reports on the matter over the last few days, it appears as if Tottenham are determined to fight to hold on to their talisman, which is quite encouraging.
It is also worth pointing out that Man Utd are by no means guaranteed to finish above us this season, and that would likely have a bearing on Kane’s decision.
