The scumbag's guide to betting the 2023 NCAA men's basketball tournament, day 2

The Rhode Island Scumbag is our resident prognosticator who thoroughly cleaned up last year’s postseason basketball slate as a bettor. As such, he’s back to take us through both a select group of conference tournaments as well as the Big Dance itself. He chooses to remain anonymous (for now) for reasons unknown, though they may be related to the fact “Rhode Island Scumbag — 2021 to present” isn’t a particularly appealing resume item. 

Well, our guy is on a heater again. Yesterday’s locks were a perfect two-for-two, as both Kansas and Texas asserted the Big 12’s dominance and ran away from inferior opponents to cover the spread. All his futures bets are still alive as well, though that just boils down to “Alabama won.”

His success carried beyond his official picks. The Rhode Island Scumbag group chat was inundated with messages like this all night.

So, perhaps noting that I called him out for not including his biggest cashes in the column, the Rhode Island Scumbag got back to me today. If it were possible for a Word document to smell like Five Hour Energy and Michelob Ultra, this would reek. Our guy has the beginning of a heater going. We’re not gonna walk away from the table in the middle of it.
