The Chase fans blast Bradley Walsh for asking ‘hot’ contestant ‘patronising’ question as she’s introduced on show
THE Chase fans have blasted Bradley Walsh for asking a ‘hot’ contestant a ‘patronising’ question.
The TV presenter, 62, welcomed viewers to the latest episode of the show on Wednesday.
He also introduced four new players who were all hoping to win some cash by taking on the chasers.
They were Lynne, Ken, Dave and Hollie.
But school teacher Hollie caught the attention of fans watching at home and they complimented the contestant.
One said: “I must have if Hollie pitched up as my teacher I’d be pleased.”
A second commented: “How come no-ones mentioned the hotness of Hollie?”
“I bet Ken tried to chat Hollie up before being told to go away,” replied a third.
However, when it came to Hollie facing the chaser Anne Hegerty, viewers slammed Bradley.
He asked the blonde beauty her age which fans said was “patronising”.
One tweeted: “Patronising age ask.”
Another said: “How old am I? Bugger off grandad.”
Unfortunately Hollie was no match for The Governess Anne and she was eliminated from the competition.
Lynne and Dave managed to reach the final round of the game show but were beaten at the last hurdle by Anne.
Meanwhile, a former contestant on The Chase died just a week after her episode was broadcast on television.
Debbie’s husband confirmed the heartbreaking news after she passed away following a battle with cancer.
He wrote in a Facebook group: “Debbie, who was on the Chase on [Wednesday] and who Sean [sic] flirted with sadly lost her 17 year battle with cancer last week.
“She was my beautiful wife and it was tough to see but at the same time lovely to see her how she was.
“It was filmed about three years ago. She was one of the last to be filmed before lockdown.
“She had breast cancer 14 years before this that had been away for a number of years, but about a year after she filmed this it came back in her bones and then in her brain.”
Debbie went toe-to-toe with Shaun Wallace, also known as The Dark Destroyer, on the popular ITV quiz show.
