I’ve found the UK’s best charity shop with brand-new River Island and M&S buys – people travel miles to visit it
A KEEN bargain hunter has claimed to have found the best charity shop in the UK – and it even sells brand-new River Island, M&S and Kurt Geiger stuff.
Heidi Ondrak, known online as @duchessofthrift, encouraged her followers to head to the Newlife SuperStore in Cannock, Staffordshire, after regularly shopping there for more than 20 years.
The fashion fan claimed the store sells dead stock and customer returns from a wide range of stores, including River Island, M&S, Mint Velvet, Oliver Bonas and Warehouse at discounted prices.
In a new TikTok reel, she said: “This is my favourite charity shop in the whole world.
“I’ve been shopping here for about 20 years and it’s the New Life charity shop in Cannock.
“It’s just huge, it’s like a warehouse.
“People come on coach trips here and it’s the shop returns and dead stock from places like River Island, Anthropology, Oliver Bonas, Urban Outfitters, Warehouse, Marks & Spencer’s. The list goes on.
During the one-minute video, Heidi shares what the store looks like inside – and some of the bargains on offer during her latest visit.
She continued: “So you can sort of get an idea of the scale of the place.
“Accessories for a £1. A big Superdry coat there, a massive duvet coat for twenty quid.
“Kurt Geiger shoes. I like them.
“Just rows of gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous dresses.
“They’re Mint Velvet really high-waisted cargos, love them.”
The keen bargain hunter also found a range of brand-new tops from Urban Outfitters and trainers from Mint Velvet.
“But just look at the scale of this place. It just goes on and on and on. It’s just phenomenal.”
Below the video, she added: “The stuff isn’t second hand it’s dead stock, store returns, end of lines but all the money is for charity, the dress I got for £20, was worth £170.”
The huge discount store attracted plenty of attention online, gaining more than 4,100 likes and 125,900 views.
In the comments, other TikTok users shared their reactions, with one writing: “Wow my idea of heaven.”
Another said: “God, wish we had a charity place this size.”
“Been going here years too! Love it!” added someone else.
A fourth joked: “No – gate keep this!!”
