The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has placed 36 OneWeb satellites into orbit using a rocket configuration similar to the one planned for the Gaganyaan mission, which aims to launch a crew of three members into an orbit of 400 km for three days. ISRO Chairman S Somanath said the rocket used in the OneWeb mission had improvements aimed at making it human-rated for the Gaganyaan mission, adding there were plans for a commercial launch of a polar satellite launch vehicle in April.
