I went to UK’s biggest Poundland – they even do their own meal deal and it’s cheaper than Tesco
TWO bargain hunters took a trip to the UK’s biggest Poundland, with the giant shop leaving them both open-mouthed.
Katie and Nicola, who post on social media under the username @katie_nic_travels shared their clip to TikTok with the caption “UK’s largest Poundland.”
The biggest location currently in the UK is the one in Teesside retail park in Stockton-on-Tees.
It opened in February last year and the 19,000 square feet store is three-times larger than the average shop.
It includes a large PEP&CO clothing and home department – which takes up a third of the shop.
But not only this, there’s also an impressive food section too.
Katie and Nicola headed into the Northern superstore and first spotted the ‘Poundbakery’ stocked up with fresh, hot food, including sausage rolls and sweet treats.
There was also a Lavazza coffee machine offering fresh warm drinks.
The duo then headed to the Food To Go fridge, aka the Meal Deal fridge.
For those looking to cut the costs where possible, you’ll be pleased to know that the Poundland meal deal, consisting of a sandwich, drink and side, is actually cheaper than Tesco, who have recently put their price up to £3.40.
The budget shop was full of bargain hunters, eagerly stocking up their trolleys, and the savvy shopper filmed down the aisles, with the beauty aisle well stocked with cheap items.
There was a large frozen section, with lots of great deals available.
The shoppers spotted pizzas, pies, vegetables and meat with many frozen buys costing just £1.
Not only this, but there was also a huge alcohol selection too, with a large variety of beers, wines and spirits.
The duo then took the escalator upstairs to check out Poundland’s clothing range – Pep & Co.
There was an epic selection of clothing available with some adorable kids clothes too.
If your little one likes Minnie Mouse, you’re in luck, as there’s even Disney bits as well.
The duo then moved onto the men’s section, spotting Marvel hoodies and cosy t-shirts.
Not only this, but there was also a lovely home selection too, as the duo showed off the fake plants and the bedding available.
The clip has clearly impressed many, as it has quickly amassed 61.7k views.
It has 1,584 likes, 88 comments and 141 shares.
But social media users were left divided at the video – while some were eager to visit, others joked about the prices in Poundland.
One user posted: “I wanna go.”
A second noted: “Wow.”
Meanwhile, someone else said: “I gave up with Poundand since they started charging more than £1. Now I go to B&M and Home Bargains more.”
Another added: “That’s no pound shop though.”
A third joked: “Inflation gonna make it £4 land.”
Whilst another person chimed in: “Never underwood why they continue to call it Poundland. It’s clearly not these days.”
