CRISTIANO RONALDO appeared delighted as he was mobbed by a pitch invader.

The fan, wearing an Al Nassr shirt, had to be escorted off the pitch after confronting the Man Utd legend, who was in action for Portugal against Luxembourg.

But, Ronaldo, 38, seemed far from uncomfortable with the attention he recieved.

In fact, he gave the supporter a wink and a thumbs up.

Security quickly came to Ronaldo’s rescue and marched the over eager spectator off the pitch.

It is not the first time CR7 has been accosted on the pitch during a game.

Only last month, he avoided potential injury by jumping out of the way of a pitch invader who slipped, nearly taking him out.

In a pre-warm up ahead of Al-Nassr’s clash with Al-Taawoun, a fan ran on the pitch hoping to meet the five-time Champions League and Ballon d’Or winner.

But as he approached the player and other Al-Nassr stars, he slipped at Ronaldo’s feet.

Ronaldo sidestepped the star-struck fan and a security guard, who was in hot pursuit.

While back in December, stewards grabbed another pitch invader who tried to get close to their hero after Portugal crashed out of the 2022 World Cup to Morroco.

The man sprinted at Ronaldo as stewards gave chase.

And Ronnie only realised the pitch invader was there when security managed to get their hands on him moments from impact.

The man held out a hand as stewards wrestled him away, with Ronaldo just inches away.

As of writing, Ronaldo was on the scoresheet twice against Luxembourg – meaning he now has 121 goals for his country.

Portugal raced into a 4-0 lead in the first half hour, with Joao Felix and Bernardo Silva also on the scoresheet for Roberto Martinez’s side.

Last Thursday, Ronaldo became the most capped footballer of all time when he earned his 197th cap against Liechtenstein in a Euro 2024 qualifier clash.
