I’m 56 and love to dance – people tell me to ‘get it, grandma’ when I bust a move on TikTok
A 56-YEAR-OLD woman leaves people younger than her in the dust when she busts out the moves.
The influencer took her age — and immense agile talent — in stride.
Sharon (@strice2), a Los Angeles-based dancer, mom, and grandma, shared a dance video with over 440,000 TikTok followers.
On a platform known for its viral dance videos and remixes predominantly by members of Gen-Z, the grandma brought something new to the table.
She danced to Bounce When She Walk by OHBoyPrince, bouncing to the lyrics in a T-shirt and jeans.
She clapped and hopped in rhythm, then turned and shook her booty.
“Grannies also bounce when they walk,” she said, adding the hashtag #over50.
People were impressed with her talent and cheered for her: “Get it, grandma,” said one commenter.
“You always tear these dances upppppppp! Get it mama!” said another.
“You’re awesome,” said a third.
Her younger fans commended her for the video but also expressed annoyance that they couldn’t do what she could.
“I tried to do this and I couldn’t,” sighed one viewer.
The dancer, however, offered insightful and patient advice.
“Try again! Duet creator to learn on 3x then 2x and when you get it, 1x!” she said.
