Last Game: The Vees picked up their 14th-straight win Friday, beating the Vernon Vipers 5-1 on home ice. It was a scoreless game through two periods, before the two teams combined for a six-goal third period. Penticton came back from an early 1-0 deficit in the final frame, scoring five unanswered goals. Spencer Smith and Josh Nadeau each had two goals in the win.
Today: Penticton looks to become just the eighth team in BCHL history to hit the 50-win mark. The last time the Vees had a 50-win season was the 2015-16 season. Also, the Vees can set a new BCHL single-season win percentage record with a win or even a single point. The best win percentage in BCHL history is .917 set by the 2011-12 Vees. Coming into today’s game, the Vees sport a .934 win percentage.
Luca Di Pasquo looks to get the start in net for Penticton. He has equalled the BCHL record for goals-against average in a single season at 1.69. That record was set by Mike Garteig during the 2010-11 season with the Powell River Kings.
Bradly Nadeau is trying to fend off older brother Josh for the BCHL’s Brett Hull Trophy as the league’s top scorer. The 17-year-old has 113 points, five ahead of his brother Josh, for top spot in the league. The last time the BCHL had a player with over 110 points was former Vee Scott Conway in 2015-16.

Last Game: The Silverbacks fell 4-3 in the shootout to the West Kelowna Warriors last night at home. The Warriors had a 3-1 lead going into the Hird period, before the Silverbacks got goals from Isaac Lambert and Brandon Santa Juana to force overtime. West Kelowna earned the extra point in the five-round shootout. A massive win for the Warriors who leaped frogged Salmon Arm for third place.
Today: A win today and the Silverbacks can still clinch third place and a first-round match up with their North Okanagan rivals, the Vernon Vipers. A loss and it’s a first-round meeting with the Prince George Spruce Kings. The Silverbacks will be without defenceman Tristan Allen and forward Brandon Santa Juana. Both were hurt in Saturday’s game against West Kelowna.
