I filled my freezer with a month’s worth of Iceland food for £50 – here’s all I got & it’s so quick and easy to cook
A BUDGETING mum has shared how she managed to fill her freezer with a month’s worth of food from Iceland.
Her huge frozen haul was made up of countless buys that are not only delicious, but also quick and easy to cook. But the best part of all was that the lot cost just £50.
The savvy shopper, who goes by the name of Ashleigh Money Saver on TikTok, took her followers on a tour of her local store to see what she filled her trolley with – and where they could make big shopping savings.
And Ashleigh, whose profile is @ashleighmoneysaver, explained in the caption that she’d set herself the rule of ensuring her bill came in at £50 or under – a challenge that Iceland made a doddle.
As she gave a glimpse of the aisles, the TikToker explained: “Guys, come and fill my freezer for one month for under £50 with me.”
Ashleigh then went through her top buys one by one, starting off with an offer she was more than happy to take advantage of.
As she picked up a packet of Birds Eye fish fingers, she continued: “There’s 4 for £5 across this huge range of products.
“My kids love things like this so I got two packs of fish fingers and two packs of chicken dippers for a fiver.”
Next, she picked up a katsu chicken and rice, and a pulled pork mac and cheese from Iceland’s My Protein range.
She added: “These are really good for quick lunches and dinners so I put those in the trolley.
“The Harry Ramsden potato slices are one of my favourite types of potato from Iceland so I got a bag of those .
“They also have really big bags of different types of chicken nuggets so I got a huge bag of 50 dippers.”
And that wasn’t where the chicken dishes stopped, as Ashleigh also got some chicken breast skewers – a four pack cost £4.
She explained: “They’re great for an instant meal. They’re three for £10 and we absolutely love them.
“I got the sweet chilli, the BBQ chicken and the plain, so that’s a lot of dinners sorted.”
Her shopping basket also included a £1 pepperoni pizza and a chicken and prawn ready made paella.
Speaking about it, she said: “We love this and it’s ready in two minutes.
Iceland also had lots more to offer, from hash brown onion rings to McCain’s gastro chips.
But Ashleigh was also keen to stock up on veggies to serve with her meals.
She said: “I like to buy a lot of frozen veg so it’s in and ready when I need it.
“I got onions and mixed vegetables, these were £1 each.”
Finishing off her haul were some of their breakfast patties, both the sausage and hash brown version, which she described as looking “super yummy.”
While she also catered for those with a sweet tooth thanks to the Vimto ice lollies.
After filling up on tasty meals and treats, Ashleigh concluded: “I do this shop once a month and set myself a challenge of not going over £50.”
So what was the grand total?
“As you can see, I got loads, and it only cost £49.00.”
