I’ll never spend £60 on a cleansing balm again, I found the best £4 make-up remover from Sainsbury’s
A BEAUTY whizz has raved about a new product she’s found from her local Sainsbury’s that does the same job as a cult classic make-up remover.
Debbie, known as @debbiemillyard on social media platform TikTok, explained that while she loves Elemis Cleansing Balm, which retails for £46, she’s found one that appears to work just as well for a fraction of the price.
Raving about Source of Nature’s Nourishing Cleansing Balm, which is sold at Sainsbury’s for just £4, she explained: “Imma show you what this product is gonna do for you.”
Spreading some of the product across her face, Debbie said it smells “divine” and makes the make-up “melt” right off.
Pointing at a mark on her cheek, she then said: “You couldn’t see my scar before but now my make-up is coming off, you can see it.”
She went on to share that the cleansing balm has some texture to it, which makes it feel as though she’s scrubbing her face with a “nice, gentle exfoliate”.
“I’m in love. It smells like eucalyptus and something else… Peppermint? Tea tree? Something… It smells freakin’ fresh,” she said.
Going on to scrub the make-up off her eyes, she explained that she had Mac mascara on.
After removing it all with a cotton pad, she raved: “It actually feels hydrated, my skin, after I’ve used that to take my make-up off. Usually when I take my make-up off it feels tight and dry, but no.”
Ending her video, she added: “I just realised I didn’t even tell you what the name of the product is. It is the Source of Nature Nourishing Cleansing Balm. And I got this in Sainsbury’s.
“It’s vegan, cruelty free – I don’t like putting anything on my face that isn’t cruelty free…”
In the caption, she wrote: “Yes I know Elemis isn’t £60 BUT for £4… sainsburys have out done themselves”.
People were left divided in the comments as one person said: “Sorry cannot give up on my Elemis cleansing balm!”
While others offered other alternatives as one person shared: “one of the best ones is Aldi Lacura cleansing balm. It’s a total dupe of the Liz Earle cleanser for only £3.99!! With a cloth!!” [sic]
A third wrote: “I love the Body Shop Camomile balm with the Primark face cloths but will give this a try for that bargain price x”.
While a fourth added: “Honestly coconut oil does the same thing!!! Like people are getting ripped off”.
