#LAKings Reign Recap: Madden OT Heroics Serve Up Ontario Win; Plus Turcotte Comments and Krygi
Tyler Maddens late game heroics led Ontario to their third straight win following a 3-2 victory over Abbotsford.
Madden netted the game winning goal just over two minutes into the overtime period, finishing off a beautiful centering feed from Alex Turcotte. Turcotte has proven to make a huge impact since returning from injury three games ago, as he has points in all three and the Reign have won all three games.
Abbotsford opened the scoring at the halfway point of the first frame, when they cashed in on a loose rebound. However, Ontario answered with a power play goal from Lias Andersson who rifled a one timer into the net, executing off of a good puck movement sequence. Despite Abbotsford controlling the pace for the majority of the period, the two teams entered the locker room with one a piece.
The Canucks broke the tie when they capitalized off of a rebound near Matt Villaltas cage. Ontario was at their best late in the period, yet they were unable to find the equalizer.
While on the power play in the third period, Samuel Fagemo found the tying goal after he wired a one time shot past the Canuck netminder. Ontario came inches from taking the lead moments later, yet Martin Chromiak ripped one off of the post.
In overtime, Turcotte connected with Madden in the opening minutes to win the weekend finale.
Villalta made 29 saves on 31 shots on his way to his 12th win of the season.
In other news, the Reign will be adding a big-time prospect this week:
