I’m known as the belly queen and did an Amazon dress haul to see if they REALLY fit plus size… it was a very mixed bag
A PLUS SIZE woman known as the ‘belly queen’ tried on a bunch of dresses from the online retailer to see if they would REALLY fit her curves.
McKayla, from the US, regularly shares plus size clothing hauls with her TikTok followers.
In a recent video posted to her account @makingitmckayla, the fashionista showed off five different styles of summer dresses she purchased from Amazon to see how they really looked.
The brunette beauty was left seriously impressed with some, but there was one that was a total dud.
She said: “There are so many cute spring dresses on Amazon right now that claim to be plus size, but are they?
“My name is McKayla, I’m a belly queen, and today we’re going to find out.”
The first dress she picked up was a multi-coloured floral print one-shoulder maxi dress.
The top was made with a super stretchy ruched material so McKayla had high hopes it would fit.
But she was left disappointed when she tried it on.
She explained: “I want to love this dress so much, look how pretty it is.
“It’s hard to see on camera, but this is really hugging my underbelly, it’s not the look I’m going for so for that, it’s a no.”
The plus size fashion fan then picked out a stunning baby pink dress with puffed sleeves and a delicate red floral design with an open back.
“How beautiful is this dress?” she said once she had tried it on.
“It’s got a nice flow to it, I love the back, the sleeves are very generous (in size).”
Next, McKayla tried on a pale green baby doll dress, which she hated the shade of.
Other than that, McKayla was impressed with the lightweight dress, perfect for the hotter months.
She then tried on a blue checked dress with organza puff sleeves, and a ruched top.
“Almost was perfect, it’s just too tight on my belly, it fits everywhere else,” she added.
McKayla loved the look of the dress so much that she said she plans to get it tailored to fit around her stomach.
The final dress she tried was a faux satin dress with long sleeves in a sage green colour.
McKayla was concerned the sleeves wouldn’t be big enough but other than it being slightly tight in the shoulders it was the perfect fit and another win.
She said: “I think I might actually keep this one.”
The video soon went viral and people quickly took to the comments to share their thoughts on the summer dresses.
One wrote: “Love the blue! I vote for getting it tailored to make it a perfect fit.”
Another person commented: “Absolutely love them all – super cute! Hear me out the pink one, but on backwards so the tie is in the front?”
“That blue dress will be perfect after you tailor it! It looks really good on you,” penned a third.
Meanwhile, a fourth added: “I was looking so forward to that first one shoulder one and now I’m disappointed.”
“I’m so sad about the first one I’m plus size and pregnant so I was hoping it would be flowy and cute,” claimed a fifth.
