OPELOUSAS, La. (KLFY) - Opelousas Police are currently on the scene of a fatal shooting.

The shooting happened Monday on Franklin and Union Street, near Benny’s Big Star grocery store.

When police arrived, they found one male victim lying in the roadway suffering from several gunshot wounds.

The victim was brought to the hospital where they died from their injuries.

This is an ongoing investigation and police are actively looking for a suspect.
