Returning to work after a long break is challenging for most people, particularly for women who face increased obstacles. Although the Indian government has introduced legal maternity rights offering up to 26 weeks of paid leave as well as other benefits, more is needed to encourage women to return to work. The traditional work culture, limited opportunities, and unsupportive families all have an impact.
