This month's tragic fire in Old Montreal has shaken our city. It still feels surreal. For me, it hit close to home not only because I'm a Montrealer. There is hardly one degree of separation among the Pakistani community, and it did not take long to hear from friends of friends that two of the victims were Pakistani women.
