‘One man injured’ in North Carolina college shooting

One man was reportedly injured in a shooting at a North Carolina college on Thursday morning.

The shooting at Forsyth Technical Community College in Winston-Salem prompted a lockdown on campus and students and staff were evacuated. 

The victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, according to WXII. The person’s identity has not been revealed.

There is no active shooter threat on the campus or in the community. Forsyth Tech initially announced around 11.30am that an active shooter was on the campus. However, police said that was not the case.

No one else was injured and all students in the Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools students returned to their campuses.

No arrests were immediately made.

The shooting comes three days after a massacre at The Covenant School in Nashville, Tennessee, that left three students and three adult staff dead. The shooter, Audrey Hale, was killed by police.
