Skegness ‘murder’: Tributes to Gareth Hart, 43, after he’s stabbed to death with man, 33, arrested
TRIBUTES have flooded in for a man stabbed to death following an “altercation” outside a Skegness restaurant.
Gareth Hart, 43, died in the early hours of Thursday following the incident in the Ingoldmells area of the Lincolnshire town.
The victim, from Rotherham, South Yorkshire, had been on holiday when he was set upon and tragically died before police could get to him.
A 33-year-old man from Derbyshire has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
A 30-year-old man who was earlier arrested has since been released with no further action.
His family have asked for privacy at this difficult time.
Cops have now launched a murder investigation into the horror in the Roman Bank area which closed Fantasy Land fairground.
And tributes have flooded in for the tragic 43-year-old following his death.
Relative Kirsty Hart shared three broken heart emoji’s alongside a selfie of Gareth in a tribute on Facebook.
While Paul Ogley wrote: “R.I.P Gareth Hart fly high mate.”
Cheryl Darnley added: “Rip Gareth Hart thinking of all my family at this sad time especially my auntie Yvonne Darnley Hart. Love you.”
Rob Jnr Hall said: “Very Sad day! Heart goes out to you all Gareth Hart x.”
And Kavan Grayson paid tribute sharing a picture of a pint, captioning it: “For you my brother, my best mate Gareth Hart.
It is understood Gareth owned the Thurnscoe Tap pub in Rotherham.
In a statement on Thursday, the pub said: “Due to unforeseen circumstances Thurnscoe tap will be closed until further notice.”
Lincolnshire Police said on Friday: “We can now confirm that the man who died following an incident in Ingoldmells, in the early hours of Thursday morning (6 April), was 43-year-old Gareth Hart, from Rotherham.”
On Thursday a spokesperson for the force said: “We have arrested a 33-year-old man, from Derbyshire, on suspicion of murder.
“This relates to the death of a man in Ingoldmells, in the early hours of this morning.
“A 30-year-old man who was arrested earlier today on suspicion of murder has now been released with no further action.”
Anyone with dashcam footage in the Roman Bank area between 9pm on 5 April and 3am the following day, should contact police on 101, quoting Incident 22 of 6 April.
