An outbreak of measles has been reported from a few villages in the Simaria block of Chatra with one suspected death due to the disease, putting the health authorities on alert. Health department officials said several people in Jabda village, Harijan Tola, Birhor Tola and Chatibar Tola are down with the disease. A woman, identified as 35-year-old Sheela Devi, wife of Umesh Birhor, is suspected to have died of measles on Monday.
