I’m an interior whizz & here’s the trends that are in & the ones you need to ditch – get rid of grey immediately
AN INTERIOR designer has revealed the trends that are totally in and the ones that you must ditch immediately.
So prepare to be attacked – and if your home is covered in grey furnishings, you may want to listen up and take notes.
The Los Angeles based luxury interior designer @kreissdesign recently took to TikTok to share his thoughts on the interior trends he is fed up of seeing and the ones he thinks more people should embrace in their homes.
The interior whizz posted his clip to the video sharing platform with the caption ‘Interior Design Trends for 2023: Here’s what’s in, and here’s what’s out.’
He said: “In, warmer colour palettes.
“Beige is beautiful and grey is dead.
“We are seeing a universal shift to warmer colour palettes across the board.”
He then noted that rather than office furniture, in is soft furniture that has a cosy feel.
He added: “In, marshmallow-y vibes, rounded corners and soft, cosy textures.
“Out, sleek, boxy Italian-inspired furniture that looks like it belongs in an office.”
Next he said that instead of gold, black is more of an in colour.
He continued: “Out, are gold and chrome accents.
“In, are soft blacks and hints of copper bronze.”
The man’s clip has clearly shocked many, as it has quickly racked up a whopping 887.3k views.
It has 32.3k likes, 1,903 comments and 5,832 shares.
Social media users were left divided at the man’s claims – while some agreed with his comments, others weren’t so keen to take his advice.
In particular, many TikTok users revealed that they love grey and wouldn’t be willing to remove it from their homes.
One person said: “I will never give up my greys. Timeless neutral. I find it very calming.”
Another added: “I still like my gold.”
A third commented: “Grey is not dead.”
Whilst someone else noted: “I feel nothing is ever out. It’s a personal choice!”
Meanwhile, another user simply said: “Agreeeeee!”
A second chimed in: “Agree! So over the grey phase.”
Whilst one interior fan posted: “TOTALLY AGREE!”
