I’m a property developer & transformed my unruly garden into a paradise – people say I paid too much, it was worth it
A PROPERTY DEVELOPER showed how he transformed his unruly garden into an elegant paradise.
The man, who goes by @theproperyguy on TikTok shared the transformation of his unruly garden but everyone said he spent way too much.
In the TikTok video, the property developer showed the back garden of the rundown house – with bald patches of grass and a discoloured patio.
It also was full of rubble and rubbish which they had to shift before starting the transformation.
They spent £250 disposing of the rubbish which also included the base of an old pond.
The property expert then paid £200 to have excess earth removed from the garden so the landscaper could work their magic.
They started by leveling the garden and added sand and hardcore for the walkway and patio.
The property developer picked natural stone paving, adding: “It’s slightly more expensive but harder wearing than concrete.”
Shingle was added to the edges of the patio to smarten it up and then they got to work on replacing the bald lawn.
Finally, the property developer painted the bland wood fences with a modern black shade.
The finished results made the garden look completely different from the one he started off with.
Replacing the discoloured patio with natural stone paving gave the garden an elevated look alongside the black fence.
In total, the property developer spent £6,000 on the new garden.
The video has since gone viral with over 11.9million views and over 960k likes.
People quickly took to the comments section of the garden makeover video and many were stunned by how much he spent on the transformation.
One person wrote: “My garden’s smaller and I was quoted £12k! I left it and did it ourselves for £3k.”
another commented: “You could do it for a lot cheaper, just saying.”
Someone else added: “My mother did the same, costed her 60 quid.”
Meanwhile, a fourth said: “Seems a bit expensive for the end result.”
“Really nice job. People commenting on price if you can do it yourself that’s good cause it’s the labour that costs more than the materials,” penned a fifth.
The property developer replied: “If I didn’t do this as a side hustle alongside a full-time job, I’d probably give it a go.”
