David Dickinson’s ‘replacement’ lined up for Dickinson’s Real Deal – despite star insisting he’s NOT quitting
DAVID Dickinson’s ‘replacement’ has reportedly been lined up for Dickinson’s Real Deal – despite the star insisting he’s not quitting.
Fans were left devastated on Thursday when it emerged the beloved television presenter was leaving his ITV show.
An insider had told MailOnline how the 81-year-old would be departing the long-running show once filming wrapped on the latest series.
They said: “It’s an open secret on Dickinson’s Real Deal that David will be leaving the show after filming the upcoming series.”
However, a rep for David quickly shot down the rumours and said he was not quitting.
They said: “David has no plans to retire from Dickinson’s Real Deal, a show he still very much enjoys making, and is hugely looking forward working on the upcoming series later this month.”
Despite this, the Daily Mail report producers have already lined up a ‘replacement’ for the antiques expert.
Money saving expert and pawnbroker Dan Hatfield is reportedly in discussions to take over the gig.
The 39-year-old has appeared on television before, featuring on ITV’s This Morning and Million Pound Pawn.
Dickinson’s Real Deal first aired all the way back in 2006 and features members of the public bringing their collectables to be valued.
Their prized possessions are then passed on to dealers who make their own valuation and try to purchase them.
When contacted by The Sun Online, a spokesperson for ITV said: “The current series of Dickinson’s Real Deal is in production and filming throughout spring and summer.
“No decisions have been made on future series beyond that.”
