Woman punched in head, robbed near UC Berkeley

A woman was beaten and then robbed near the University of California, Berkeley’s campus early Sunday morning, according to authorities.

At approximately 1:21 a.m., a woman walking on the 2200 block of Hearst Ave. was punched in the head and then had her purse stolen. The suspect ran away from the area and was wearing a white shirt and black pants, authorities said.
