UK government hires barge to intern asylum seekers

The UK Home Office intends to house up to 500 asylum seekers in a 47-year-old “hotel barge”. It has previously been used to house offshore oil field and windfarm workers, and refugees seeking asylum in Germany and the Netherlands.
